Getting started

4 questions

What is PassB?

PassB puts your business card on your phone. You share it with a QR code, a link, or a tap from your Android phone. The other person sees your card on their phone and can save you to their contacts in one tap.

Does the other person need the app?

No. Your card opens in their phone's web browser, like any web page. They can save your details straight to their contacts. If they like it, they can make their own free card.

How do I make my card?

Type your details in the app. It takes about a minute. Coming soon: take a photo of your paper card and PassB fills in the fields for you to check, or join your company with the invite they send you.

Is PassB free?

Yes. One card and unlimited private links are free, with no end date. Pro ($2 a month or $20 a year) and Teams ($2 a person a month) are coming soon. Nothing is for sale yet.

Sharing and privacy

4 questions

What is a private link?

Every time you share, PassB makes a new link just for that moment. You choose what they see (Work details, or Everything) and how long the link works. You can stop any link at any time, and then it shows nothing.

Can I take my card back after I share it?

You can stop the link, so your card no longer opens. If the other person already saved your details to their phone, those stay with them, the same as a paper card.

What does "Shared with" show?

A list of every link you made: how and when you shared it, what it shows, how many times it was opened, and when it ends. It shows how many times, not who opened it. You can stop any of them with one tap.

Who can see my personal contacts?

Only you. The people you keep in PassB stay on your phone. Teams is coming soon: then, if you join a company, it will see only the contacts you mark "for work".

For companies

Coming soon4 questions

What can my company see?

Teams is coming soon. When it comes, your company will see only work activity: the cards you share from your work card, how many times they were opened, and your work contacts. It will never see your personal contacts, where you are, or anything else on your phone.

What happens when someone leaves the company?

Teams is coming soon. When it comes, an admin will suspend or remove them. Every link they shared will stop at once, and their card page will say they are no longer with the company. The work contacts they made will stay with the company.

How do we add our people?

Teams is coming soon. When it comes, there will be three ways: send invites by email, upload a CSV list, or let anyone with your company email address join. People who have not set up their card yet will show on the Overview page, with a Remind button.

Can employees change the company card?

The company card is coming soon, with Teams. Then people will change only the parts the admin allows. The admin will lock the company name, logo, address and main phone. People will change their own name, job title, mobile number and photo, if the admin lets them.

Pricing and billing

4 questions

How much does Pro cost?

Pro is coming soon, and nothing is for sale yet. It will be $2 a month, or $20 a year. Paying for the year gives you 2 months free.

How does Teams pricing work?

Teams is coming soon. It will be $2 a person a month, the same monthly or yearly. Teams will start at 5 people and include everything in Pro for each person.

How do I cancel?

There is nothing to cancel yet. The Free plan costs nothing, and Pro and Teams are coming soon. When they come: stop Pro in Google Play or the App Store, and the company Owner will change a Teams plan in Settings, Billing.

Do you send invoices?

Not yet, because nothing is for sale yet. When Teams comes, the company Owner will find every invoice in Settings, Billing. Enterprise, also coming soon, will be able to pay by invoice. For Pro, Google Play or the App Store will send you the receipt.

Phones and NFC

4 questions

Which phones work?

The PassB app for Android is coming soon to Google Play. The iPhone app is coming soon too. The person you share with can use any phone with a camera or a web browser. Tap will work from your Android phone to another Android phone.

What is a tap card?

Tap cards are coming soon. A tap card is a real card with a small chip (NFC) that holds your PassB link. Hold it near a phone and your card opens. It will cost $19.99 and have a QR code on the back for phones that cannot read tap. When our Android app comes, you can also tap your phone to theirs.

Can I add my card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

Not yet. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are coming soon, with Pro. Your card will then sit next to your boarding passes and tickets, ready to show.

Can I scan someone else's paper card?

Not yet. Reading paper cards is coming soon: you will point your camera at a card, and check what the app read before you save. Today you can scan a PassB QR code or a vCard QR code, and that person goes into your People list.

Researchers

Coming soon4 questions

What is the research card?

The research card is coming soon, with Pro. It is a card style for researchers and doctors. Next to your name and job, it will show your latest papers from PubMed, so people can see your work at a glance.

Where do the papers come from?

From PubMed, the free public library of medical research. You will choose which papers show on your card. PassB is a product of Omelette Inc., USA. It is not a government app.

Does it work with PubMed Hub and SciRead?

PubMed Hub and SciRead are other products of Omelette Inc., USA. You can find them today in the Omelette apps list in PassB. When the research card comes, it will link to them, so people can read or listen to your papers.

Is the research card only for doctors?

No. When it comes, anyone with papers on PubMed can use it: scientists, nurses, students and teachers too.
